At the age of 24 I was given the opportunity from MIU to play tennis.  I was never able to play sports before, and the option to play tennis is truly a great opportunity for me .

I grew up in Louisiana near a military base called Fort Polk (now called Fort Johnston) and worked five years in a food pantry . It was the defining moment in my life, seeing the the help that the community gave to those suffering in our community. It gave me hope for humanity.

I realized at 14 I was transgender and because of that I never was able to play sports in high school. MIU  gave me the opportunity to play for thei team and I’m incredibly grateful.
